Overview

The Cisco NIM-2FXS/4FXOP Network Interface Module (NIM) is designed to enhance the capabilities of the Cisco ISR 4000 series routers. This module provides flexible connectivity options, enabling seamless integration of voice and data services into a single platform, thereby optimizing network performance and simplifying management. This module enables the convergence of voice and data services on the Cisco ISR 4000 series router, allowing for efficient utilization of network resources. With two FXS (Foreign Exchange Station) ports and four FXO (Foreign Exchange Office) ports, this module offers efficiency in connecting analog devices such as phones, fax machines, and analog trunk lines. Supporting various voice features and protocols, including Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP), this module ensures high-quality voice communication over IP networks.
